This Privacy Policy explains how DayAcross (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you visit dayacross.com (the “Site”) and when you use the DayAcross macOS app (the “App”).
DayAcross is designed with privacy in mind. The App processes your calendar data locally on your Mac. We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal information on our servers. We do not use analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking.
1. Who We Are
DayAcross is developed and operated by Luis Barragan.
- Website: https://dayacross.com
- Support: luis@luisbarragan.com
2. When You Visit the Site
If you only browse the Site, we collect very little:
- Basic server and security logs (for example, IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps) to keep the Site secure and running.
- Contact information if you email us directly.
We do not use third-party advertising trackers on the Site. If we add analytics or cookies in the future, we will update this policy.
3. Information We Access in the App
Calendar data
With your permission, DayAcross reads calendar events from the calendars on your Mac through Apple’s EventKit framework. This is used only to display events on the timeline and to calculate availability summaries. DayAcross does not create, modify, or delete calendar events.
Information stored on your device
DayAcross saves preferences locally on your Mac, including:
- Selected time zones and default timezone
- Working hours and availability settings
- Which calendars you have chosen to display
This data is stored in your Mac’s local app storage (UserDefaults) and is not sent to us or any third party.
4. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect:
- Your name, email address, or contact information (unless you email us directly)
- Account or login information (DayAcross has no user accounts)
- Calendar event contents on our servers
- Usage analytics or crash reports sent to us
- Location data
- Device identifiers for tracking purposes
5. How Your Data Is Used
Calendar data and app preferences are used only on your device to:
- Display your events across time zones
- Highlight working hours and open time slots
- Generate availability text you can copy and share
When you use “Copy Availability,” the summary is placed on your clipboard. You choose where to paste and share it. We do not receive that information.
6. Third-Party Services
DayAcross does not integrate with third-party analytics, advertising, or cloud storage services. Your calendar data is read directly from Apple’s Calendar system on your Mac.
If you choose to contact us by email at luis@luisbarragan.com, we will receive the information you include in your message (such as your email address and message content) solely to respond to your inquiry.
7. Data Retention
Because we do not collect or store your data on our servers, there is no server-side data retention. App preferences remain on your Mac until you delete the app or reset its data. Calendar data remains in your Apple Calendar account and is governed by Apple’s policies.
8. Your Choices and Control
You can:
- Revoke calendar access at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars
- Change which calendars are shown in DayAcross Settings
- Delete the app to remove locally stored preferences
9. Children’s Privacy
DayAcross is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of DayAcross after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
